Guinea pig hair loss

Although not very common, guinea pig hair loss problems do exist. As with dogs and cats, pet hair loss is caused mostly by toxic elements ingested by the pet. These may be pesticides, insecticides or any other type of chemical vapors or elements found in food, water and air. Guinea pig hair loss can be slowed down by eliminating such problems through specialized shampoos and medication (such as the products offered by our site sponsors). If the hair loss is severe, you should consult a vet. However, if the negative effects are mild, you may want to simply try to place the guinea pig in a less toxic environment and feed it healthier food. If the guinea pig hair loss problem persists you should consider treatment.
