Excessive hair loss
There are several triggers and causes for excessive hair loss - let's briefly have a look at them below:
Alopecia areata: this is the most common hair loss and the main cause for excessive hair loss . It is a condition in which the hair follicles are prevented from being active and the density of the scalp hair is reduced with each new hair growth cycle.
Scarring alopecia : caused by physical damage to the scalp may be a cause for excessive hair loss only if the scarring was severe and extended on a large area of the scalp.
Trichotillomania : - in this condition the patient pulls the hair out and this is a stress induced response. Although rare, some cases of Trichotillomania may lead to excessive hair loss and premature baldness.
Tinea capitis: - this fungal scalp skin infection is unpleasant and has noticeable effects on baldness problems.
